Oscoda Rotary Pocket Park The Oscoda Rotary planted, designed, and maintains the Pocket Park in downtown Oscoda, MI.

DOT...2 Miles The Oscoda Rotary participates and is a Charter member of Michigan State's Adopt-a-Highway program. We are responsible for a beautiful 2 mile stretch south of Oscoda on Highway US 23 (which runs alongside beautiful Lake Huron). The spring & fall Clean-the-Highway dates for the Oscoda Rotary Club will be scheduled by M-Dot and we are notified well in advance with a choice of 2 weekends to pick from. The 2009 Spring Clean-Up date is Saturday, May 2nd. Everyone must attend the MDOT safety training video session to participate in the highway cleanup. These are held at our regularly scheduled meeting the week before the clean-up is to take place.

Diss, England Exchange The Oscoda Rotary Club exchange members' visit with the Diss Rotary Club on alternating years. To view the Diss Rotary Club website, who also has a Rotary Club exchange program with Denmark, click on Diss England Rotary Club The Oscoda Rotary Club sponsored portion is $1,500 towards the flight cost awarded to that Rotarian randomly selected from all those who meet the attendance requirement in the last year; in addition to being a member for at least 2 years. Many of our Rotarians have so enjoyed their exchange trip to England and have made lasting friendships with Diss Rotarians who visited us that many have chosen to make return trips (on their own pennies of course) to visit again and again. And then there was our * Rotarians & Friends Trip of 11 * that choose to visit Diss to celebrate their 50th and our 25th anniversarys - please click here to see this lovely group below. We are attempting to calculate the total number of trips to our sister city; Diss, England, our Oscoda Rotarians have made over the years. I'll update this section as the names and trips come in. Pete & Sally Hervey made 2 trips. Jim & Barbara Blair made 2 trips. Jim & Nancy Alexander made 5 trips. And those who have made 1 (for now) trip to Diss are Tom and Karen Ruedisueli (who are making their 2nd trip in the fall of 2009), Past President Dan Bowen and his mother, Michael and Jerri-Lynne Richardson, PP Mary Reitler and her husband Jim, ..... more to come.. Diss Exchange Trips

11 members / friends of the Oscoda Rotary Club visited our sister club in Diss, England in Oct, 1997 to celebrate their 50th anniversary and our 25th.
